It was ignited remotely when the volunteers retired to the shelter shortly after 9am, after guarding the junction. Muklis Latae died later at Mai Kaen hospital. Prior to the attack, a bomb disposal team was deployed about 7am to check a suspicious box found at a market in Mayo municipality, Mayo district.
